Best Budget 4X4 at the Tow Car Awards for the Dacia Duster

Great Value Dacia Duster Carries Off Honours in the 2019 Tow Car Awards. The Dacia Duster has won Best Budget 4x4 in the 2019 Tow Car Awards. In Comfort Blue dCi 115 4x4 guise the Duster impressed the judges with its winning blend of value, practicality, composed driving experience and genuine go anywhere ability. Run in association with What Car? and the Camping and Caravan Club, the Practical Caravan Tow Car Awards are a tough test for any car, with the expert panel of judges taking into account a contender’s towing ability, everyday driving characteristics, practicality and the ease of both buying and owning. In 2019 there were 40 cars under consideration for awards, making any victory hard won. The towing aspect of the test is particularly tough and rigorous, with all cars subjected to an emergency lane change, a hill start on a 1 in 6 gradient and towed at speeds of up 60mph. On top of this, each car and caravan unit is subjected to full acceleration and braking tests using sophisticated GPS timing gear. Furthermore, each caravan is ballasted to 85 per cent of the kerb weight of the tow car, while each car is loaded with a further 100kg of ballast. Speaking about the Duster’s hard fought win, David Motton, Editor of Practical Caravan said: "The Dacia Duster offers more car for your money than any other car in the Tow Car Awards 2019. It tows well, too, staying stable and secure at 60mph. Four-wheel drive will help caravanners tow away from a muddy pitch and makes the Duster an ideal choice for anyone who likes to tour all-year-round, whatever the weather." Ben Fletcher, Head of Dacia UK, commented: “We’re delighted with the Duster’s win in the 2019 Tow Car Awards. Not only is it another addition to its ever expanding trophy cabinet, it’s further evidence of the Duster’s incredible versatility. Not only has the car proved its impressive value for money, it has excelled with its refined yet rugged driving experience and effortless towing capability in all weathers.” The Dacia Duster range starts at just £9,995, with the four-wheel drive version available from £13,710 for the Essential SCe 115 4x4 petrol and £15,700 for the Essential Blue dCi 115 diesel. The Tow Car Awards have been running since 2007, in which time more than 500 cars have been tested. Since its first entry in 2013 Dacia has taken class honours on two other occasions, with victories for both the previous generation Duster and the Logan MCV. Arrange your Test Drive at Motorvogue Kings Lynn or Clapham, Bedford.

A great weekend at the Motorvogue sponsored Bedford Festival of Motoring and Kite Festival.

Motorvogue were delighted to be the main sponsor of the first Bedford Festival of Motoring which took place last weekend (June 1st & 2nd) along the beautiful Embankment, alongside the Bedford International Kite Festival being held in Russell Park. The event was organised by Bedford Borough Council and was the first festival in the town to embrace all things motoring in the UK, with special displays of vehicles, ultra-modern, luxurious and bizarre, iconic and soon forgotten, motor sport in all their guises, motorcycles and bicycles and commercial, agricultural and military and claasic cars. As the main sponsor for the event, Motorvogue exhibited models from our extensive range available at Interchange Retail Park location, including Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Hyundai, SEAT and Renault, plus Dacia and Citroen who are located just outside of Bedford in Clapham.  The weather was very kind to us, with the sun shining for most of the weekend.  We were busy throughout the weekend with people interested in looking at our models and finding out more about them. Fortunately there was enough wind for the stunning kites to fly, and the weekend was a great success all round. With many other attractions including a funfair, trade stands, craft marquees and music.

Dacia at the Auto Trader Awards 2019

Dacia has scooped two top prizes at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2019, being awarded ‘Best Value Brand’ for the second consecutive year and the Duster SUV awarded ‘Best Value New Car’. Voted for by 63,000 real car owners, Dacia was a firm favourite with the public, proving the brand’s value for money credentials. Unlike other car awards, the annual Auto Trader New Car Award winners are based on the opinions of those who have bought, driven and lived with their new vehicles. Commenting on Dacia’s wins, Ivan Aistrop, Auto Trader Road Test Editor, said: “Value is at the very heart of the Dacia brand ethos, and the two awards show that the message has not only got through to UK car buyers, but it’s also really struck a chord with them. Everyone likes to feel like they’ve got a good deal, and with a Dacia, you can be extremely confident that you have. No other car company can offer off you such a large amount of metal for such an aggressive price, and that’s a very appealing prospect indeed.” As well as highlighting the value of the brand, Duster was also praised for its good looks, practicality, and levels of equipment in its category win. Speaking on the latest award wins for Dacia, Ben Fletcher, Head of Dacia UK, said: “It’s great to see that Dacia’s incredible value for money offer is resonating so strongly with UK car owners and our cars are proving to be top choices every day for drivers. But value isn’t just about affordable prices, by keeping things simple we’re able to offer high quality cars with proven reliability.” In 2018 Dacia was named as the most recommended car brand in the UK in a YouGov survey, beating 34 other manufacturers. Dacia sold 700,798 vehicles worldwide last year, an increase of 7 per cent. Sandero is still the most popular vehicle for retail sales in Europe while Duster ranks as the most popular SUV for retail sales in Europe.

Double win for Dacia at the WhatCar? Awards

Dacia picked up two wins in the annual What Car? Awards. The Sandero triumphed for the seventh-consecutive year, winning ‘Best Small Car for less than £12,000’, while the All-New Duster won in the ‘Best Family SUV for less than £18,000’ category. The What Car? Awards are among the most prestigious in the automotive industry and reflect the opinions of the vastly experienced road test team from What Car? magazine. Since it first picked up the award in 2013, the Dacia Sandero has consistently delighted customers that choose the no-nonsense supermini. Priced from £6,995, the Sandero is well-equipped and also benefits from low running costs. Six years on from its UK launch the model still represents ‘shockingly affordable’ value. Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, said: “The Sandero offers exceptional value, particularly in mid-level Essential trim. And no car available for similar money has anything like as much space and practicality.” The All-New Dacia Duster was awarded the title of ‘Best Family SUV for less than £18,000’ at this evening’s ceremony. The all-new version of the Duster has brand new exterior styling with a totally revised dashboard and interior that provide enhanced comfort and quality. The All-New Dacia Duster SUV is available from £9,995 in a choice of four trim levels: Access, Essential, Comfort and Prestige. Equipment available on the Duster includes options never before available on the Dacia range such as keyless entry, climate control, a Blind Spot Warning system and a Multiview Camera that includes four cameras located around the vehicle. Commenting on the win for the Duster, Huntingford said: “There really are very few cars on sale in any class that can match the Duster’s value-for-money offering. It has loads of room inside, a good boot, and the 1.5-litre diesel model is punchy too.” Speaking on the latest award wins for the brand, Louise O’Sullivan, Head of Dacia UK, said: “It’s a terrific accolade for the Sandero to have won this What Car? Award in every year that it’s been on sale. We’re proud of the car and the most satisfying thing is that the customers love it too. The All-New Duster has been launched to strong critical acclaim and continues Dacia’s ethos of offering quality cars at exceptional value-for-money prices.”
