Latest News: Hyundai Motor is offering customers a growing range of attractive N choices. With the launch of the New Tucson N Line, they’ll be able to drive the brand’s first SUV with the sporty N look and feel. To mark the occasion, Hyundai enlisted German artist Andreas Preis to create the ‘Drive A Statement’ Project Tucson, a unique illustration on a New Tucson N Line.  The New Tucson N Line combines the popular design, safety and comfort of Tucson with the motorsport-inspired dynamic styling and attitude of N Line. With its sportier, aggressive design elements, the model is aimed at people who want to “drive a statement” that is sophisticated, yet bold. For this special occasion, Hyundai chose to work with Andreas Preis as he is renowned for his multi-faceted works of art. He specialises in illustration, murals and live paintings and likes to draw and paint portraits of abstract shapes and ornaments through a range of different mediums including paper, canvas, walls and wood. Hyundai asked Preis to create a truly eye-catching design that turns the New Tucson N Line into a real statement, while emphasising the car’s new features. It is inspired by Hyundai N’s heritage, and takes many cues from motorsport, with references to corners, chicanes, curbs and chequered flags, as well as the livery of Hyundai’s i20 Coupe WRC and i30 N TCR models. The visual elements and lines also create a dynamic, fast look, especially along the sides of the car.  The base colour of the illustration is Engine Red, and the artist has utilised the N Line colour palette of black, white, red and light blue. Preis’ design highlights key aspects of the model, such as its more aggressive and sporty front, which includes a new grille design, refined daytime running lights and new black-bezel headlamps. It also draws attention to the car’s elegant glossy black accents on the side mirrors and rear spoiler, as well as the dark alloy wheels and N Line badge. After designing the illustration, Preis transferred the work onto the car by hand with great attention to detail, with the whole production taking 72 hours of painting.  “I was very excited to be asked by Hyundai to create an illustration on a New Tucson N Line. It is not every day you get to create an art work where a complete car is the canvas. With this project, I was able to turn the car into a statement of my own,” says Andreas Preis, artist and creator of the ‘Drive A Statement’ Project Tucson.  “With the New Tucson N Line, we are appealing to a new customer base compared to the regular version. We therefore wanted Andreas Preis to create the ‘Drive A Statement’ Project Tucson to demonstrate that this is a special new model for Hyundai. I believe he has achieved this, and it fits perfectly with our claim that you are driving a statement. SPOTLIGHT ON INNOVATION AS HYUNDAI UK WINS FOUR WHAT CAR? AWARDS

High Wycombe, 22 January 2019 – Hyundai has won a total of four What Car? Awards at the annual Car of the Year ceremony, including three highlighting its innovation in alternative-fuelled vehicles. Chief among them was the Technology Award, handed to Hyundai for its work in electrification and the development of hydrogen fuel cell technology. “Hyundai won not only for building the EV with the greatest real-world range we’ve tested so far [Kona Electric], but also for leading the way in developing the hydrogen fuel cell technology that could one day offer car buyers greater electric range without the hassle of recharging a battery,” commented the What Car? team. Hyundai is unique in that its model range includes petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fully electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. The KONA Electric is the newest fully electric model from Hyundai, joining both the IONIQ family and the forthcoming NEXO Fuel Cell Vehicle, due early this year. Kona Electric brings together the very latest in battery electric powertrain and connected technology, with an impressive all-electric driving range of 279 miles and a striking design. What Car? experts also awarded the Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid the ‘Hybrid Car of the Year’ title for the second year running, stating that it “presented the most polished all-round package” of all its competitors. With its combination of efficient 1.6-litre petrol engine and electric motor, the IONIQ Hybrid is capable of a 62.4mpg (WLTP) and CO2 emissions of 84g/km. The IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid was also named as What Car?’s ‘Best Plug-in Hybrid for less than £30,000’.  “We think the regular IONIQ is the best hybrid car you can buy, but it’s also among the very best plug-in hybrids at any price,” added the What Car? team. The IONIQ family – the world’s first car to be offered with three different electrified powertrains – also includes the IONIQ Electric, which offers buyers up to 174 miles of zero emissions range, and is priced from £26,745 (including PICG). Ashley Andrew, Hyundai Motor UK Managing Director, said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to see Hyundai’s innovative work in powertrains rewarded by the most trusted name in automotive consumer publishing. Our electric and hybrid technology is entering the mainstream at an incredible pace, and our commitment to reducing emissions across our range will not stop there with a total of 18 new electrified models in the plan by 2025. ” Hyundai’s fourth award of the evening went to the i30 N, which won What Car?’s ‘Best hot hatch for £22,000-£27,000 category’. “Hyundai’s first hot hatch is great fun to drive and comes bristling with so much kit that you don’t need to spend a penny on extras. It’s a hot hatch which pleases both head and heart,” said the What Car? judges. Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, said: “In a very short space of time, Hyundai has carved itself a reputation for class-leading hybrid, electric and even hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, making it a worthy winner of both our Technology Award and our Hybrid Car of the Year title. But, its work at the opposite end of the spectrum can’t be ignored; the Hyundai i30 N entered the hot hatch market with a bang, bringing with it impeccable driving dynamics and incredible value for money.”

HYUNDAI WINS MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR AND CAR OF THE YEAR AT NEXT GREEN CAR AWARDS

High Wycombe, 13 December 2018 – Hyundai Motor UK has won three major titles at the annual Next Green Car Awards, including the flagship Manufacturer of the Year and Car of the Year awards. These most recent wins come hot on the heels of Hyundai being named Electric Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year at the GreenFleet Awards. It was the revolutionary Kona Electric singled out by Next Green Car Awards judges for special praise, picking up both Car of the Year and Family Car of the Year awards. Its extraordinary value for money and family-friendly practicality elevated it above all other contenders in the eyes of the Next Green Car experts. The Next Green Car Awards team said: "With its 279-mile range, the Hyundai Kona Electric represents outstanding value for money when compared with rival offerings. As the first to bring a long-distance EV to mass-market customers – and with such a capable package – Hyundai’s Kona Electric is NGC's Car of the Year 2018."   KONA Electric is the latest electrified model from Hyundai, joining the IONIQ in the line-up – the world’s first car to be available with three separate electric powertrains; hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric. It was Hyundai’s pioneering work in electrified powertrains, and the broad array of low emissions offerings in the range that led to Next Green Car Awards judges naming Hyundai as their Manufacturer of the Year. The Next Green Car Awards team said: “While Hyundai's Kona Electric has been making headlines this year, the company's plug-in activities are far more significant than just one model. Now with the IONIQ Electric, IONIQ Plug-In, and Kona Electric, Hyundai is becoming a class-leading electric brand." Hyundai continues to invest in low and zero emissions powertrains, and is the only manufacturer to offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fully electric and Fuel Cell options. The NEXO Fuel Cell Vehicle is due to go on sale early in 2019, capable of travelling 414 zero emissions miles on each fill. NEXO even cleans the air as it drives, cleaning nearly a tonne of fine particulates from London’s air during October’s ‘Clean Driving Month’. Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai Motor UK President and CEO, said: “We have a very clear mission to become a world-leader in electrified and fuel cell vehicles, and it gives me great pleasure to see that the big strides we have already achieved are gaining recognition. Our electric offerings, including Kona and IONIQ, represent extremely good value for money, are packed full of the latest technology and come as standard with the peace-of-mind that’s afforded by Hyundai’s five-year unlimited mileage and eight-year or 125,000-mile high voltage battery warranty. The future of both our fuel cell and other electrified powertrains is taking shape as we speak, but I guarantee you there’s much more to come.” Hyundai Motor Group recently revealed plans to secure a 500,000-units-a–year fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) production capacity by 2030, including passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, in anticipation of high demand for global FCEVs, expanding to around two million units a year within that timeframe. Hyundai’s commitment to reducing emissions across its line-up will see a total of 18 new electrified models introduced to the range by 2025, with three new fully electric vehicles by 2022. *Including Plug-in Car Grant

KONA IRON MAN EDITION SUV MAKES GLOBAL DEBUT AT 2018 SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON

SAN DIEGO, Calif., 19 July 2018 – “My armour’s manoeuvrable, fast, and lots of fun at parties,” – Tony Stark. In Stark-like fashion, Hyundai Motor today unveiled a special edition Iron Man-inspired Kona SUV on the opening day of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Taking centre stage at the Marvel booth, the Kona Iron Man Edition features both exterior and interior design elements that closely resemble and give a nod to the dynamic Iron Man suit. The Kona Iron Man Edition will be available to customers via a limited global production run. Production is scheduled to begin in December, with the first units available in the first quarter of 2019. For more details, visit KonaIronManEdition.com. “Hyundai’s ongoing collaboration with Marvel is a great way for us to become a part of what people are interested in and engage with a highly passionate fan base,” said Vice President Minsoo Kim, head of Marketing Division, Hyundai Motor Company. “Our relationship is more than just product placement as we aim to create custom experiences that resonate with the Marvel audience. The Kona Iron Man Edition is a perfect example of blending our two worlds together into one special vehicle that we hope will excite fans of both brands all around the globe.” “Hyundai is excited to work with Marvel on the Kona Iron Man Edition; it really is the perfect mash up,” said Dean Evans, chief marketing officer, Hyundai Motor America. “The first time we saw the Kona, we knew its unique, rugged design drew a compelling resemblance to the strong and iconic Iron Man suit. There is also a nice synergy between the fun and adventurous nature of the Kona and the playful yet bold character of Iron Man/Tony Stark. The outcome is a remarkable special edition that we’re sure will appeal to Marvel fans and SUV enthusiasts alike.” “Seeing this car come to life is like wish fulfillment for so many of us,” said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel’s SVP of Global Partnerships & Marketing. “When you grow up reading comics, you dream of seeing that technology and those inventions become reality. This shape is immediately recognizable and is one of the key design inspirations for Kona.
